Hear why Hugh McColl calls UNC Charlotte ‘hugely important’ to CLT

UNC Charlotte’s Division of University Advancement has released a timely video by banking pioneer and longtime university booster Hugh McColl. You really should invest 70 seconds to watch it.

McColl recently spoke to the Higher Education Works Foundation about how integral UNC Charlotte has been to the growth of Bank of America and the entire Charlotte region.

More than 28,000 students begin their fall semester at UNC Charlotte next week. UNC Charlotte did not even exist when McColl arrived here 56 years ago.

As McColl relates in his typical straight-forward style, UNC Charlotte’s rapid ascent to major urban research university since its founding 51 years ago has paralleled and contributed heavily to our entire region’s economic boom over the same period.

Listen to what Mr. McColl has to say about our 49ers, and enjoy feeling proud of our hometown university.
