Big Lots coming to Commons at Chancellor Park

10.17.2009
While other parts of Charlotte struggle to fill vacant big-box stores, University City continues to find new businesses wanting the space.
The newest example is at The Commons at Chancellor Park on University City Boulevard. Big Lots recently signed a lease for the former Circuit City space, says the center’s owner, Centro Property Group.
The Big Lots name recently went up on the center’s entrance sign and above the store's front door; an employee at the store said it will open by mid-November.
Columbus, Ohio-based Big Lots is a Fortune 500 company with more than 1,300 stores in 47 states. The nation’s largest broadline closeout retailer, Big Lots offers consumers a wide range of bargain-priced merchandise, including brand-name closeouts, seasonal products, consumables, furniture, housewares, toys, and gifts.
