New UC home for OrthoCarolina

2.10.2010
This weekend is moving time for two University City offices of OrthoCarolina. Both locations are consolidating at a new, larger facility on North Tryon Street near Mallard Creek Church Road.
OrthoCarolina's name already is in place on the 26,000-square-foot office building at 9848 N. Tryon St.
Patients will begin coming there for appointments next Monday (Feb. 15).
The staff is “thrilled” about moving to their new home,” said OrthoCarolina's Chief Executive Officer, Daniel B. Murrey, MD, MPP. “We’re excited to see our patients’ reactions, as well.”
OrthoCarolina is one of the nation’s leading orthopedic practices, with more than 70 physicians and offices across the Charlotte region. Its 100,000-square-foot uptown campus houses seven specialty centers.
In University City, OrthoCarolina has had offices for several years at the Carolinas Medical Center-University office park and MRI services at University Executive Park.
The new North Tryon Street facility will be much more convenient to patients, Murrey said, with state-of-the-art facilities, comfortably appointed patient lobbies, an easy-to-find building and convenient parking. The location is within a mile of I-485 and UNC Charlotte – particularly important since OrthoCarolina is the team physician for UNC Charlotte Athletics.
The center’s nine physicians have a broad range of specialties, including sports medicine. “We’re able to see patients with all orthopedic needs,” Murrey said. The center also offers therapy for hand, back and sport injuries, along with work conditioning for injured workers.
