University City has many great stories to share, and now it has more ways to share them.
University City Partners recently added a Facebook page, Twitter updates and an RSS feed.
"UCP staff members have spent a lot of time educating ourselves on the value Twitter and Facebook have added to similar areas around the country. Based on what we learned, we were convinced it was a great way to draw attention to University City’s many amenities," says Executive Director Mary Hopper.
The group, which promotes University City's extensive business district, also has expanded its website with a new area devoted to University Research Park. See the improvements and get links to Twitter and Facebook at www.UniversityCityPartners.org.

More info and more ways to get it

Charlotte City Council created University City's municipal service district in 2003 to promote and market the growing business hub around UNC Charlotte.
The council expanded the district in 2008 to include neighboring University Research Park, home to scores of businesses that employ more than 20,000 people.
University City Partners, which manages the district, has expanded its role, as well. In the last nine months, UCP has sponsored an Urban Land Institute study of new opportunities for the research park; funded a study on the economic benefit of light rail in the business district; and launched a twice-monthly e-newsletter for area civic and business leaders.
The latest improvements will help get University City's news in front of a broader and more diverse audience.
"Twitter can send out quick messages about everything from a new store or restaurant opening to fun events and hidden gems," Hopper says. "We hope people will feel free to contribute their tweets and expand the knowledge of what is out there for us all.
"Facebook allows us to make such messages a bit longer and add some great photos. Because the Facebook demographic is somewhat different, it will allow us to expand the audience.
"Most importantly, both Twitter and Facebook offer a way for people to find great things to do and share information."
