Some of Charlotte’s hottest events and activities take place in University City. Concerts at PNC Pavilion, recreation at Topgolf, NASCAR races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the International Festival at UNC Charlotte, seasonal University City Farmers Market, pop-up shops, the Cross Charlotte Trail and Charlotte New Year’s Day 5K are just the start.

Events

With cultural and community events like the University City Wine Fest, Charlotte Kids Fest and a variety of races from 5k to marathons, there is always something fun to do! Visitors plan trips to lodge at one of our premium hotels to attend conferences or signature events around the Boardwalk and at local stadiums and arenas. Residents enjoy historic and neighborhood events. Explore annual, pop up and community activities to enjoy with friends, family, or on your own.

Parks & Greenways

Our greenways provide a bike-friendly way to travel as well as escape. Toby Creek, Mallard Creek and Clarks Creek greenways run 14 miles through the university campus, University Research Park and a dozen neighborhoods.

Sports

Golf, soccer or cricket, anyone? If you like college athletics, you will love cheering the Niner Nation men’s and women’s Division I NCAA teams. Several are nationally ranked. Athletes will find many places to play here, including three 18-hole golf courses, Topgolf’s premier entertainment destination and three parks with extensive sports fields. A cricket league holds matches at Reedy Creek Park. Mallard Creek Park hosts major youth baseball tournaments.
